Here is the top reason the men who liked Joker don't like the sequel; They don't want to see a male character they relate to get raped. I get it. It sucks. Women are inundated with this content. Female characters get raped in films and on tv shows all the time. That being said, the internet seems to agree that Todd Phillips used Joker 2 to intentionally antagonize fans of the first film. I mean, I thought Joker was a well made film and it was good...but it was revered by incels, neckbeards, lonely men who love to play the victim and guys with rage issues. “I thought Joker 2 was bad … but the fact that so many chuds who thought Arthur was their people’s champion in the first movie have to face that Joker 2 frames him as actually just a nobody loser with main character syndrome is a pretty funny silver lining tbh lol." - Someone on twitter Yeah, I think that's true. Joker 2 sucks all the fun out of being an awkward, unattractive, mentally ill man with anger issues. For the men who wanted to see Arthur put on a pedestal for those qualities, they got slapped down. Also, it truly did have too many musical numbers.

So dynamic. None of the characters are fully likeable - just doing their thing.

Fun, kitchy, charming. The sets weren't grand and vast like most pirate shows...they were cozy. Great characters. It's the show we deserve.

It was okay. The plot was meh and the characters weren't well developed.
