Alright. So, I’ve never read any of the books. I just finished watching the movie like 3 seconds ago, and let me tell you, it was awesome. Let’s be honest, we all know that all those 0 and 1 star reviews are from the fans who read the original series and are enraged that the movie didn’t follow precisely what happened in the series. And maybe that’s true, but so what? From the perspective of a person who just watched the movie for enjoyment, I’ll say, it was absolutely stunning. I’ve only got good things to say about The Darkest Minds. With a strong lead, relatable characters, interesting plot, convincing effects, and all-around good acting, this movie was nothing but a joy to watch. There wasn’t a second where I was bored or where it was dragged out. It kept me on the edge of my seat while also building the characters. Plus the ending was just beautiful. So basically that’s it. If you’re a fan, I’d say don’t watch it. If you’re not a fan and you want a cool post-apocalyptic teen superhero film like me, The Darkest Minds is the perfect movie for you.
