I'll try and be sympathetic here, as their world view is so misaligned with 99.9% of the rest of "us" that it's hard to find common ground to understand their issues. I've given it 3 stars as it was interesting to see them up close and "personal" - as ashamed to admit that, that as I am.
So the show starts as a x factor style sob story. And in all fairness there are some issues that warrant this. However, are they the only human beings that have had to deal with prejudice, rasicsm and paparazzi. Definitely not and this isn't to say those things don't need addressing but to put yourself on the centre stage as the worst hit in human history in all 3 areas is quite a cocky statement. They seem almost oblivious to the fact that their lives (even with the true social problems included) are free from so many of the worries and fears the rest of us have (I say this with my heating on, fearing the cost to keep my family warm).
Now, I have read a review from an American on this stating that "Meghan is clearly fake and false" which helps me feel more confident in my opinion of how I see her. To me - and this is only through subconscious reading of her body language and speech pattern - she is painting a picture of the person she wants us all to think she is, not who she is. I may be wrong and she may just be the next mother Teresa but I can't get past it.
One of the worst parts is hearing "their" story through their friends and family. Again, I'm judging people on pre-conceptions and ideas engrained into my 30 something year old brain - so bare that in mind. However almost all of them have lead a privileged life where surrounding themselves with the likes of Harry and Meghan increases their egos, financial stature and social constructs. So any word that comes from their mouths is almost a null point. To me, it's as believable and trust worthy as the press or the monarchy.
That leads me to my final point. Just to state that, I, am not a royalist Brit hoping to bring down Harry and Meghan "the traitorous duo!" (Lol). I watched this with an as open mind as I could. I just can't relate to their issues in almost any aspect. And please for the love of god Meghan... Know that the media will say just about anything to sell a newspaper and the absolute majority of the rest of us couldn't care less of what race you are and or assign yourself. Society as a whole has moved forward, we're all humans. Ignore the idiots who think otherwise - even us white males couldn't care less (I know right!?)
Oh final final point: Harry is so proud to have mixed race children... Dear oh dear, I think it was Samuel L Jackson who said something along the lines of "the sooner we stop talking about race the better". Positive or negative. He should be indifferent about his kids race, in fact just don't mention it. (Again, who cares!?) Be proud of their first steps, their personalities not their genome combination.
