I read many of the reviews, despite the movie not coming out yet, but after watching the trailers, I’m kind of disappointed. Yes it’s more culturally appropriate, but some of the villains seemed very out of nowhere and there is a witch. In the original talent Mulan, there is no mention of witches. I know I haven’t watched it yet, but with Disney making all these live action movies of fan loved classics, clearly for money, I don’t have high hopes for Mulan. A lot of these actors are Chinese, which is accurate as many films just choose random Asian actors or even white actors to play asian characters. I’m not Chinese myself but I know many Chinese people, so I decided to ask them about this. They thought it was more culturally accurate, but they didn’t know where the witch came from. I’m definitely watching this when it comes out, but I think I will be disappointed.

I wanted to like this movie, because it had some really great actors working on it, and as a child I really enjoyed the original Peter Rabbit. This movie was a bit over-the-top and was at times a bit to fast paced. I know that this is a bit late as it’s been two years since it’s release, but after rewatching it I can see that this film is definitely meant to be watched once. Rewatching movies is something I love to do because of my love for film, but this was just annoying and hard to watch. The visuals are quite stunning but the cgi rabbits were a bit unsettling. James Cordon as Peter Rabbit was slightly awkward none the less. Overall this film is definitely a children’s film, that even a child would probably dislike watching again.
