A spit in the face of Tolkien's legacy. More interested in meeting diversity quotas and passing The Bechdel test at every turn than respecting the source materials and world Tolkien built. Poor writing. Poor choreography. Poor casting. Poor pacing. There are no redeeming parts to this series. From start to finish they fail to create a single watchable moment. How you take a character as elegant, powerful, intelligent and wise as Galadriel and turn her into and unlikeable thoughtless carless character is beyond me. Tolkien gave you a world to set amazing stories in. And the end product misses the mark in every possible way. I can only hope season 2 is cancelled. Let Tolkien's work rest. No matter how many times I read or watch Lord of the Rings, I find new ways to enjoy it. It's an adventure I could watch thousands of times and not get bored.
