With only minute differences, every episode is virtually the same. A patient is admitted to the hospital, a doctor thinks it’s something simple and uninteresting, House thinks differently! House takes ahold of the case, does controversial treatment and makes controversial decisions. Sometimes even having his subordinates break into the patient’s house to look for clues. Every one of his colleagues disagree with him, every single time, miraculously he always turns out to be right, and at the last moment, saves the day! The basic idea of the show isn’t bad, but the overwhelming similarity between every episode, combined with the insanely implausible idea that even after hundreds of cases all of his colleagues disagree with him every time, not to mention his decisions that are not just controversial, but highly illegal, makes the show difficult to watch. Also, House is an insufferable narcissist, and he’s insanely rude to everyone. All the time. It’s just too derivative and implausible to be enjoyable.

Anyone who thinks QT is racist or misogynist COMPLETELY missed the point of the movie. Yes, there is a hell of a lot of racist language. Yes, there is violence towards a woman. This movie is supposed to take place in the late 1800’s, when both of those things were commonplace and nobody batted an eye at it. If you think a good movie sugarcoats the reality of the past, your shallow mind should stick to teletubbies. NOT TO MENTION, that the initial racist character (Chris Mannix, a rebel renegade who fought for the south), ended on agreeable terms with the main protagonist, a black man. And the woman earlier in question was an awful murdering outlaw. The use of over the top violence and gore is quintessential QT.

People getting mad about Robert Downey Jr. playing a black guy in this movie are so stupid it’s almost incomprehensible. He didn’t just play a black guy, he was a white American actor playing a white Australian actor that plays an American black guy, TO CONTROVERSY in the plot of the film. The idea that blackface isn’t acceptable is baked into the plot of this movie, and he has an epiphany at the end of the movie. It also isn’t a comedy about the Vietnam war. It’s a comedy about people making a drama film about the Vietnam war. You’re welcome, people too dense to get that.

Great show. I was surprised and impressed with Jason Bateman’s performance in this dark drama role, as he usually plays laid back comedic roles, but I guess since his typecast character is deadpan and dark comedy it makes sense. Cons: the number one complaint I have is how it’s visually filmed. It’s very dark, I understand that they were going for a dark setting to match the mood of the series, but they really should have had a bit more lighting. Even with my brightness cranked up to max some scenes are still kinda difficult to see well. There are also a handful of episodes that are a little confusing until you see the full episode and or the next one. Confusing in a frustrating way. But it’s not too bad, and I would absolutely suggest the show still.

I like the idea of the show and aspects of it are done well. But the blatant sexism against men is ridiculous. They take several male characters, give them ridiculously exaggerated characteristics of the worst men you can imagine, chauvinistic piggish self centered controlling mansplaining types, and send this message that this is how all men are, and women are the angelic perfect opposite of that. It’s not only unrealistic and barely palatable, it’s borderline hurtful. It’s certainly not helpful for a peaceful society, if anything shows like this will create animosity.
