Some VERY strong performances - Roth & Neeson, most notably - and strong Neeson/Lange chemistry. A good mostly historical story. Unfortunate release date coinciding with the longer, flashier Braveheart - and contains many of the same nasty elements, which were simply de rigeur in those days. Smaller scale, no humongous hordes of raging Scots ravaging Bannockburn. More small-scale and specific. it's well worth watching, just a somewhat slower pace than "that other Scottish film".
