It genuinely annoys me to still see this book plastered all over tube stations claiming to be ‘Book of the Year’ etc. It was GENUINELY the worst book I’ve ever read. Every time the plot would seemingly begin to pick up, it would fall flat and get worse. I’ve given it two stars because I actually finished it, but that was only to see if it had ANY redeeming qualities towards the end for it deserve the reviews and titles it has… It makes no sense to me. A mystery. Anyhow, I do not recommend.
