Direction and acting are all top notch. And the way it plays out is very watchable. BUT... [SPOILERS] ...the story is built on a very weak foundation as I think the State's case against the defendant is all so circumstantial, that I find it hard to believe it would ever make it into a courtroom. If that was all the evidence they could gather, I doubt a DA would risk going to trial. Maybe I'm wrong as I don't know how US/Georgia justice is run - maybe a DA would run with it and press/hope for the defendant to plea bargain. But if they didn't would they really take this weak a case in front of a judge?

How do you turn a tight 4 episode thriller into a flabby mess? You add as much sentimental melodrama as you think the audience can just about stomach and then... ...add some more in just in case you underestimated. And to make sure, you intertwine two plots that almost never end - one is extended by... ...OK, I'll say it, "it's a miracle!" Great central concept - utterly abysmal screenplay and execution.

Oh dear... I couldn't stop watching the series even though, knowing Roland Emmerich was at the helm, I knew this was going to have lots of bombast, hammy overacting and very little subtlety. Not a total waste of time but I won't be counting the days to the start of season 2 (if there is one).

Seen variations of this script many times with different titles, directors and actors but this is an especially bad offering.

Lots of decent acting. Decent story up to a point. But the ending... ...no no no no no no! If the good mother doesn't do something surely her editor would. Aaaargh! Very disappointed that Olivia Cooke will have this on her resumê (maybe she is and Hilary Swank too). Would have given it 1.5 stars if I could have because I have seen more 1 star movies than I care to admit and this was just a shade above them.

Stopped watching several minutes into ep.2 - poorly written tosh. Main character's wife doesn't seem to know what being C of MI6 might entail and spills all to best friend. Team of 4 can't catch 1 person working inside a canal barge. Waste of good cast in this unbelievable, I repeat, tosh.

Can't do 4.5 so I rounded up to 5. There were quite a few cliches in this film but overall well played, engaging and not overly sentimental; and finishes at exactly right point.

Brilliantly done in all respects

Long but well done. Anyone who said it's all over the place was probably swayed already by poor reviews so spent most of their time checking their social media and not following the story. More to be pitied than scolded...

Excellent, gripping, touching and a quick (perhaps incomplete) view into a world unknown to me.
