Moji Ajayi Mosaku

First let me confess that I was skeptical about this series. Perhaps it was the title, I could not say for sure, but after seeing the first episode, I had a rethink and decided to continue watching, hoping it would be worth my time. And honestly, I was not disappointed. This drama series is indeed a must watch. Everything that makes up a good drama is incorporated in their right amount. Still, it would have been impossible to execute it if it wasn't for the cast. They were simply amazing. From the male lead- DohDoh Kyung-soo. OMG, this guy is incredible. Despite his age, his acting was impeccable. His occasional 'Oho' just makes me giggle every time I hear him utter that, and there's just something about his gazes that makes you want to dream. Even though he comes across as rude and unfeeling, mostly due to the ordeal he went through as a child, you could tell that he has a heart of gold and he's highly principled. He rarely smiled in the series, but the few times he did, it would make your heart flutter and melt a woman's resistance. Overall, great performance on his part. And there's the FL. She's absolutely beautiful in form and character. She was brave and funny, affectionate yet determined and the chemistry between her and the ML is very real and not forced. As for the rest of the cast, the good and the bad and the ugly, they all delivered so well. Great job. Great show. I highly recommend it.

Oh my God, the show is without a doubt Captivating thanks to the male lead Jo Jung-Suk. I love, love him. His acting was top notch. His looks is to die for and talk about his expressions and gestures. He got me hooked on the series. I found myself wanting to see more and more of him. To be honest, he's primarily the reason I love the show. The female lead on the other hand was a total disaster. I hated her acting. She was so full of herself and thinks she's all that when in actual fact, I only struggled to keep up with her acting. I thought she was very insensitive and rude to the Minister's son who was in love with her. Despite his sincerity that even a child can easily see, she insulted him at every chance she got. Then there was her affair with the king. Like it's so obvious who was really crazy about who between the two of them. No teasing or playful words, no show of affection or flirting. Even when the king makes a move toward her, she just stands woodenly as though she was taken by surprise. Then talk about how she blames him for what was obviously due to her arrogance and sheer stupidity. Even after the king had apologized to her and explained the complexities of his reign, she still misunderstood his every action. For someone who thinks she's wise and outspoken, I expected more from her but she never fails to let me down and now because of her poor judgement and inability to forgive, she puts the kings life at risk. What else did she want him to do? She should be thinking of giving the king a heir. Instead she's plotting revenge on how to dethrone him and have his nephew become king. What a moronic thing to do. This is the second time I'm seeing her as the female lead in tv shows. The second one was Rookie Historian and she was just as unromantic and too forward. I think the directors should not be giving her romantic scenes again. She's just not cut out for that. As for the rest of the cast in Captivating the King, I really love them. Each played their part so well but the female lead really fell my hand. Over all poor acting on the FL but the best man of the show was the male lead Jo Jung-Suk.
