It's like there's a war going on in the review pages. Have you read the 5* review pinned in google?
It's intentional bullshit.
They rate the movie 5*, but the written review is like a drunk dude, trying to make a conversation with his drink.
But, really tho.. It's kind of a thing now in movies to not follow the original source material. They keep saying that they're aiming for a broader audience, but I think they just misunderstood that phrase, "broader audience". Hello? The material you made for the entertainment is NOTHING like the source material. So, you have ZERO audience to start with, right off the bat. The only people who'd like this movie are those who doesn't know anything about its source material.
Meaning, you're not aiming for "broader audience", but "different audience".
You get what I'm saying?
The source material already have a fairly large audience. Did you even check?
If you made the movie without drastically changing the story too far from the original (of course, with added movie flares and pzzazz to showcase new tech in movie effects).. those who doesn't know about the original source material would still like the movie (granted, if it's really something to like)!
And even if it doesn't go that way. At least, you're paying your respects to the fans who came to love the original source material. If you keep that up, more and more of them would actually come back for more~ And not just for the movies! The fans will respect you.
Is it a trend nowadays to piss on the majority of fans of comics? If you're not gonna make an original story, be lazy and just take it from comics.. the least you could do is respect the fans and the original author.
It's like there's only a handful of competent movie makers nowadays.
The rest are just there for the money.
What a disgrace.
You're not artists.
You're just one of those wannabes.
Like kids with high-tech toys, but have zero idea how to utilize them to its maximum potential.
Youtube user named soulwynd said this in one of Halo series review video and I quote..
"We love the original material, not your interpretation of it. Just do exactly as is and we will praise you to godhood."
