Absurd without being fanciful. To call it implausible would be an insult to the word implausible. Where was the editor? I don’t need granular detailed realism but a few plot supporting facts to show some sort of idea how the world works would be nice (eg burnt through life insurance in one year? Did the dad have a life insurance policy of 80k?). Oh how about animal refuge set at, wait for it, Lake Como. Whatevs.
