There was so much potential with this series, but with all said and done, the original ending was better. There were so many horrible choices that happened in the final episode that it ran the train off of the tracks into a disaster.
The characters did not stay true to their nature.
There is no closure for the tormented cop, or the good people of the community from the serial killer who terrorized their town for all those years. This is what the final episode could have focused on. Closure for the town.
Maybe if they had done a few more episodes, and changed a lot of the character decisions made in the finale, then it could have been a Dexter worthy ending. But alas, we say goodbye worse off then when we said goodbye the first time. IMHO
