I absolutely love the original show and definitely has a special place in my heart.
Upon announcing its reboot and the potential differences it will have from the original, I dived into the first episode with an open mind. However, I still couldn't help but feel conflicted with the major changes. The entire plot of the reboot was almost, if not, completely different from the original. Although, it may be a good thing in the end.
In all honesty, I was still attached to the original's plot and characters (and their relationships) that I had a hard time adapting to the reboot. But after a few episodes, the reboot slowly warmed up to me and I started seeing it in a different light.
I still couldn't say that it's a great show since it's still ongoing. I might have to watch the entire season to decide if it's actually good or not. But it does have potential.
The reboot definitely has its own charms and those who haven't watched the original will easily notice them. But for those who have watched the original, I suggest for you to go and look into the reboot yourself. Try to be open about it and perhaps you wouldn't hate it as much as the others. Also, try avoiding comparison between the two shows and, instead, judge the reboot for what it brings to the table. I think it's a bit unfair for the reboot despite it being a predecessor of the original.
