I couldn’t have imagined that someone could have done such a terrible job of bringing the Halo universe to life. I have been waiting anxiously for thirteen years for a Halo movie (Peter Jackson) or TV series (Steven Spielberg) to be released and this show makes me wish I was still waiting. I had great hope for the series with the great job that was done on “Halo Forward Unto Dawn” which is basically a low budget ad for the Halo 4 video game and it gave me false hope that this Halo series would be of at least equal quality. If I could give this TV series a negative rating I would. They have basically neutered the Master Chief and made the war with the Covenant just a side plot to the emotional journey they have sent the Master Chief on. John 117 or as the Covenant call him “The Demon” is one of the most iconic sci-fi characters who almost single-handedly defeated the Covenant in his universe through incredible acts of bravery and violence which this Silver timeline Master Chief bares no resemblance too. The one thing that has been consistent in the video games and books is that The Master Chief is the ultimate soldier and leader almost to his detriment and will do anything to complete the mission no matter how difficult it is. Being that John 117 is the lead character that the Halo universe is created around I don’t think anyone expected that they would have totally destroyed him and made him into this whimpering weak character. I could go on ad nauseam about the failings of this show but will just end this by reminding those who created it of who the people are that are watching and recommending others to (not) watch this show. We are fans of the games and books who know the Halo characters and history intimately and this show is a slap in the face to those of us who love and reverie this Halo Universe and its Master Chief. So please in season 2 get back to this beloved John and his Halo Universe and please bring back Linda, Kelly, and Fredrick and tell Samuel’s story. Blue Team Rocks!
