meh, this is not a story for queer people. It's depressing that other commenters can only sympathize with the male partner, but that is because the two women in the story were almost secondary characters. A queer love story (?) that centers around the good man. Mention of choosing morality or the beast, but we have the right to choose. In the end, the lesbian who admits no attraction to men chooses the heterosexual relationship, and says farewell to the beast (her lover and her attraction) in the end. The fact this film is a modern one baffles me and shows the utter desperation queer women have for believable on scene examples of love. Supposedly we are represented broadly, but two awkward straight women don't count. At least the attraction between these two seemed somewhat believable, except it was presented as lust and not love. The truer love is with the straight husband whom she has no attraction for. The film concludes this is the right thing for the child.
I could have done without this film and will never rewatch it. It's a moral lesson for heterosexuality and depressing.
