No Smoking is a damn good cinema that Indian cinema needed badly. It is surreal. It is noir. It is raw and more of it could start a new Indian wave of cinemas of Hindi film industry. Now, after 14 years when Indian audience cry and ask why can't we make movies like koreans? There is the answer. No Smoking was a big flop. And Indian film critics were bashing it. They were so illiterate and had lack of genres and knowledge that they did not understand the film itself. For me, it is philosophical. It is beautiful. It is entertaining.
