It took me a chapter or so to really fall in love with these characters. But then you realize how extraordinary the writing is and the impact of a story told from a perspective we rarely find in great literature. I fell in love with everything about this book. It was a perfectly constructed story, beautiful prose, almost poetic in some places, and deeply moving. Highly recommended
