PGE story: I have lived next to high voltage powerline transmission structures (21 lines) since the 1970s. Tall trees and brush used to be cut down or trimmed back as needed to prevent fires. Environmentalists have worked to change these practices as well as forest management in general. The result - fires, death, and destruction. People and animals die. Homes and belongings lost. Great costs in manpower, time, and dollars. A sad state of affairs indeed.
