So I was 100% LOVING this show, and I'm an open-minded person, but then it straight up just sent the message that having legal firearms in your home for protection was an irresponsible and bad thing. My family has legal firearms properly locked up for protection purposes and I didn't like that that was just deemed "wrong" by them, like only their opinion matters. That bothered me but I shrugged it off and decided we all have our various opinions, right? Well then in the very next episode, the mother says that money following a dream only comes to "rich white women making jewelry." So I'm a white woman, who is anything but rich, who's working tirelessly trying to start a jewelry business that is nearly impossible to get to take off because of the COST (surprise surprise I'm not rich like she stereotyped me to be) plus the competition! Just super judgmental and couldn't have been more specifically offensive against me. It's cool to have different opinions but to straight up judge somebody in a collected group like that isn't right, even if it's about "white women" it's still offensive. I was loving this show so much, then it just had those two things I thought were really messed up. The stereotyping that because I'm a white woman jewelry maker that I'm "rich" believe me judgemental jerks, I'm not rich by any means. But hey thanks for the judgement and stereotyping! The Abuelita is beautiful and so so funny. I wish more of the show was about her than the mother character. I'm comforted in having firearms in my home to be able to protect myself from a dangerous world. This show just "poops" all over any opinion that isn't their own or any race that isn't their own. Messed up and pretty offensive. I'm a very respectful person, so to see people say "don't stereotype us" then those very people turn around and stereotype and judge you, I don't like double standards. I don't appreciate people being hypocritical. I show love, kindness and respect to ALL PEOPLE, just to get judgment in return. 👎
