Absolutely terrible and disturbing. Premise is kinda cool, but spirals into a comedy into a romance into an obscenely twisted neo-noir, and is just clunky with no likable characters, poor chemistry from the cast, and an awful, laughable performance from the female lead. However, the worst part was by far the ending - essentially, the female lead is a psychotic murderer, before Gary (who has been an upstanding, largely normal citizen as the movie has led us to believe) works to cover it up as an accomplice. Finally, as a cop exposes them, the two murder him, have sex as he suffocates in the same room, and the film flash forwards to a happy ending with the two. The film then attempts to ratify this by saying “oh well, he was a dirty cop” as if that justifies the atrocity of an ending - the two sociopaths essentially get away scot-free, and it’s ok because they’re in love. It’s utterly bizarre how this movie is being viewed upon favorably by anyone, so don’t waste your time with this, coming from someone who almost always has agreed with the general consensus. Weird, sadistic, horrible film.
