I just dropped $100 to see this movie because it was only playing in two cinemas in Ottawa on October 7thโjust for that day. And where were these cinemas? Of course, the ones as far away from my home as possible (thanks for nothing, Lyft). Naturally, they were sold out, so I ended up sitting one row away from the screen. My neck is still recovering.
Was it worth it? Absolutely. Best $100 Iโve ever spent. Not only will it tug at the heartstrings of every meaningful friendship youโve ever had, but itโs also a love letter to creators everywhere.
The music, the story, the charactersโitโs short, itโs sweet, and youโll cry. If you donโt cry, youโll at least sob awkwardly through the credits like I did.
Now, the last five minutes? Eh. They went with a slideshow of random memories weโve never seen, which feels a little cheap after all that stunning animation. But, hey, the voice acting and music on top of it will still leave you dehydrated.
10/10, would spend $100 and wreck my neck again.
