Can this really be called Maid? While the series is pretty good, it really is a different story than the book. Watching Andi McDowell spew profanities really bothered me and seemed forced. I'm used to sweet southern Andi and her portrayal of a bipolar manic mother is very unsettling. Also the knight in shining armor with the free car and good daycare hookup is so far fetched. I wish they had stuck to the book to tell the true story of poverty and how she managed to rise above it and create a new life for her and her child. There are way too many good parts of the book that were ignored to make this more Hollywood acceptable.
