Someone had to tell this story, in the ERA, when liberation means sexual expression mostly, one needs to see that most top level scientists in India are women now, be it ICMR or ISRO. In an ERA when many Indians still value colonial inferior mindset - one has to show this kind of achievement. I took one star away because common people’s contribution in terms of actually abiding by the lockdown was totally absent, many poor people also suffered immensely to get back to their village. It is a story about scientists and most were women, so it is also about women power. So this movie did not have to show women only wanted to go to Iran where as a quick verification shows most scientists who went to Iran were male, so Mr Agnihotri went little bit overboard.

Focused story telling that captures key moments of India’s greatest soldier, war scenes are intense but not too gory, powerful but sensitive acting by Vicky Kaushal, very smooth screenplay, all have done commendable acting with exception of actress who played Indira, poor body language that makes her look stiff and weak

A story of struggle and triumph, about a short life well lived. Farhan and Priyanka have given their best performance. To the alert viewer - there are many deep moments in the movie. Priyanka opposed king replacement as that may lead to ten more years of suffering. Her reaction when Aisha declines is priceless. Giraffe’s conversation with Aisha similarly showcased a brother acting brave, but broken inside. I think the movie jumped between past, present and future too many times, It was confusing at times.

Extremely bad acting by Ranveer Singh - was Kapil speaking with US accent, both Hindi and English? Australia was known for bad behavior. West Indies was aggressive but known for sportsmanship. I did not see any build up to the final, nothing to make it a special moment for the country. And what was Deepika doing?

The movie is a satire on differences between religions and the futility and meaninglessness of religious violence. It also shows how those differences can be understood if we make an effort. I found the music to be very good quality and effective in the context where it is used. The lyricist, director, actors all have done a good job. However - the treatment is rather shallow. Saying that each religion asks us to be good man and that is why they are all same is a lazy attempt. Anyone who studies religion even little seriously will agree that religion covers a vast range of questions and they do disagree more than agree. It is our ability to live together despite the differences- that is true maturity we have gained over the years. You can not make a deep satire on something you have not attempted to understand. Hence 4 instead of five star.

I liked the presentation, acting, screenplay a lot, so why the 1 star rating? I cannot accept celebrating a character who was essentially a lying, egomaniac and insensitive person. Netflix has made her a hero and tried to take responsibility away as if she is a child. Rachael is made villain here, in a twisted sense of irony. It feels like a world Donald Trump would love. If you can steal - you are smart. Trying to get your own money back is somehow a mean spirited activity. We are already in a strange world where kids do not want to serve, but want to live in a narcissistic virtual world of their own and somehow just make money. Do not add to that kind of dream and do not help create such an unworthy existence.

Very nice pace and smooth screenplay. Vikrant’s transformation is a good example of well thought out story telling. In many movies I would see such transformation to be sudden - spurred by a single incidence. It does not overuse bad language and violence, which seems to be the norm now a days. Violence is part of the script and is quite explicit at times, but the number is contained and does not distract too much from the main storyline. Overall - an oft repeated idea presented well, by very capable actors.

Panchayat is like some of the classic TV series from 80s, with some of the best actors of the era, better pace and screenplay. It lacks exaggeration of the human potential both for good and evil. That is why all characters are so relatable. Though Neena Gupta and Raghuvir Yadav made it nostalgic for me, the newer generation has also performed superbly.

Very common and oft repeated story line of atrocity and revenge.
