(An honest review with no spoilers)
This movie is confused, constantly trying to distract the audience with bright colors and playful setting, all of which are overplayed narratives just to get the audience to continue watching. What started out as a plain stereo typical film about an assassin quickly turned into something worse, an unfunny comedy.
instead of adding a few characters for comedic relief the entire movie turned into a big joke, like is you were tricked into watching scary movie 2 thinking it was a thriller. The movie wasn’t funny it just kind of stopped taking itself seriously halfway through. While watching I couldn’t decide if the worst part was the plot or the obvious constant seeking of validation from the filmmakers.
All this negativity in my review, yet I don't think it was bad, but it was definitely missing something. This movie had so much potential to be great if it just knew what it wanted to be. I find myself thinking that a lot lately with Netflix movies. Either the Netflix studio is running out of ideas or just giving anyone that walks in with a stupid idea a movie deal.
where I can recommend it? Probably not to anyone that doesn’t want to waste two hours of their life, but i’m definitely not trying to discourage anyone that wants to see the movie for themselves. with the rise in popularity I can guarantee people would either be obsessed with this movie or try hard to erase it from their memories like the last John Wick movie.
