A rather boring film. If it was made by any other director, it wouldn't have seen the light of the day. Surely the weakest feather in the director's hat since everyone's big on feathers! Anyone could have played Soori's character .(Ex Santhanam) Cinematography was nothing special except for a few scenes in the second song. The BGM is subpar at best and only when the two songs come in do you take something back home from this. Illayaraja as usual saves the day. Even Illayaraja's bgm felt out of place during a sequence when the police are rounding up a village. Characters have no real motivation and you only respect VJS because he was a "Vathiyar"(Teacher)once! The director's trademark must be his blatant aversion to cops. He just hates them I guess. They are bad because they're cops or the govt. After a point it all feels outdated. Something I already knew. The ending is no cliff hanger like every review or video seems to promote. The end is abrupt, disappointing and jarring! Vetriman take a leaf from GVM's book here. Frankly I don't care for Soori's character or VJS's. I just want viduthalai from this pretentious story! Disappointing!
