I love Lester, but you just ran ANOTHER negative story about a teacher/aide punching a special needs child, throwing her to the ground and stomping on her head. This person was a substitute. Just so all of you quick to judge people know, anyone can sub. My heart is broken for that child and her family. These things should never happen. However, when you run stories like this without enough explanation to the public, it destroys those of us that have dedicated our lives to educating and loving these children. How dare you? That person that had to be gone on this day is probably devastated that his/her child, yes, I said HIS/HER child because we love them, was treated like that. I am an educator. I have 10+ years of post high school education (master +). I have 28+ years or experience in public education. We don't stay here because of the respect (there is none), or the money. We stay here because of the children that need us. I am so disappointed in Lester Holt and the Today Show. It would be nice if you would begin celebrating the dedicated teachers that make every other profession possible. The Today Show is the only reason we maintain satellite TV. Thinking we will go to antennas.
