Terrible movie. The only redeeming qualities are that the blood and gore is over the top, the scenes are shot amazingly, and the kills are numerous and fairly creative. More blood and gore I've seen than in any horror movie in recent memory. If you're the type of person who turns their brains off watching horror movies and just want a good time watching kills, I guess you can check this out. That's about all the praise I can give this movie, though. Everything else is terrible. All the characters make so many dumb decisions back to back that it really takes you away from the realism of this movie. Nobody communicates effectively, which leads to people dying or putting themselves needlessly in danger. The whole legacy character thing was stupid and unneeded. The movie shoves far left liberal ideas down your throat throughout the whole movie. The characters are all judgemental hypocrites and lack any sort of meaningful and/or logical character development. Leatherface acts intelligently, which is not part of his original character. If you pay attention to details while watching movies, run far, far away from this movie. It's horribly written.
