It's not bad, and it's also not great. Quite a few stories that led nowhere and became irrelevant in the end such as the vicar and the lesbian relationship. The vicar is given an ultimatum half way through regarding her relationship and even at the end we're not entirely sure what decision she made.
The MPs ex wife played by the brilliant Billie Piper just spends the entire time drunkenly throwing pots and pans around her apartment and goes nowhere. Not to mention the MP (who we're supposed to root for) feels perfectly fine leaving his young daughter in her care numerous of times.
We never find out whether the sisters get to stay in the UK either. The list goes on.The ending is about as anti climatic as it gets with almost nothing resolved. The show is only saved by its very solid acting by the main cast. Not a bad watch if you can't find anything else to watch for a couple of hours. Certainly does not merit another serious imo
