This documentary left me emotionally drained but still wanting answers to certain elements of the story that I felt were not addressed, before drawing my own conclusions. My big question revolves around the trial in 2005 and the fact that MJ and his legal team desperately wanted these boys to be defence witnesses. As I understand it, MJ was slightly estranged from the boys at this juncture and therefore, if this alleged abuse had taken place with them, how could MJ be so confident that they would not “crack” under intense scrutiny and cross-examination, that would have clearly resulted in the complete downfall of the case and further charges? A massive risk I would have thought?
