I love Star Wars and I grew up with The Clone Wars; it left me with high standards. Rebels delivers. I watched the series as it came out and I remember enjoying it but thinking it didn’t hold a candle to The Clone Wars. I rewatched it last year and I had the same overall impression; it felt too cartoonish for me. TCW was a lot more dark than Rebels, but I rewatched it last week. I fell in LOVE with the show. Animation aside (because TCW animation style will always be superior) the story telling was next-level amazing. Before I say anything else season 4 was a great end. Now I want focus on season 2 & 3; the heart of the show. I was blown out of the water. Rebels made the force mysterious and mystical again. The Jedi temple on Lothal, the Sith temple, the merging of the Holocrons, and the Bendu reimagined the force. It felt like this beyond comprehensible entity and made me fall in love with the mysteries of the force. And there are so many incredible moments, Ashoka and all of her scenes, the inquisitors, the new home of the Lasat, and the founding of the Rebel Alliance. I felt excited by every episode because it chronicled the journey of the rebel alliance. We got to see it grow from a spark into a fire. From a small cell into an alliance fighting against tyranny, season 3 episode 18 was my favorite episode if you were wondering. I have always been a prequel super fan, but Rebels made me feel part of the alliance. It’s storytelling was truly fantastic. Rebels is truly the best of Star Wars!
