i hate writing negative reviews, but i feel like I need to write this one as - apart from people bringing up the acting and the obvious other things wrong with thee production - I've not seen anyone address the thing that seems like the elephant in the room, which is, This very much feels like they're cashing in on the victims of these murders. Sound to obvious but imma explain:
It's not that i am a cynical none-believer. Im very open to the idea of paranormal activity being a real thing. It's just that I cant help but feel like the show focused on "figuring out the killer" to "bring to light" and solve what happened to the victims when this stuff is already public knowledge. Yes, you an argue I've totally missed the point of the 28 days experiment, but It felt very distasteful to have this "exorcism/spiritual release" all because these investigators have "solved" an already solved case. I don't know, I truly don't know and I feel so incredibly icky even typing this. But I do really feel like a producer has taken an old case, lazily slapped some demon plot points in there and gone "paranormal investigation show!" and I feel this mostly with the story line with the shop Lawson family. Again, i just cant get over that unsettled feeling and it sits strongly with that narrative they have spun. I cant shake this unsettled feeling the show has left me with and this on top of the things everyone else has discussed is why I'm giving it a 1 star rating
