This game MIGHT have been good, if stupid unnecessary mechanics and design choices weren't plaguing the whole thing.
The umbrel lantern mechanic in this game mostly single handedly ruins this game.
You have to constantly use this lantern to travel between these two realms/dimensions and the umbral/not-normal dimension just absolutely sucks. The other dimension just turns like 50% of the game into boring puzzles and the whole umral place just looks super ugly, like everything just looks like blue and white flesh and looks so unpleasant to the eyes along with the fact that there is barely anything to do in this place besides incredibly boring puzzles, and you have to be constantly going in and out of this dimension throughout the whole game when all you wanna do is just have battles and explore the regular world.
The lantern also has other stupid mechanics like how u have to use it and charge it up on certain bland enemies in order to actually fight them, and u have to use the umbrel stuff to keep you alive, and it just fills the game with unnecessary and boring mechanics, all steming from this lantern.
But along with that the boss design is also not good, and you have to do this double tap thing in order to actually dodge roll.
Only thing I'd give praise about this game is that the graphics live up to the modern standard, and are pretty good
2.5/10. If I has known it would be this bad, not only would I not pay $70, but I'd actually pay someone in order to give me the time I wasted desperately trying to get this game to be fun for me.
