The way Newsnight is presented is now bad in so many ways. One - the panel is not represented equally between the current Labour government and the Conservative party. The Conservative party is always more represented by the programme as the media representative is more often Conservative leaning. Second - the investigative nature has been cancelled Why? This brought so many issues like the various scandals to the fore. Third - the fact that the end of the programme changes channel means that if you are recording it you consequently loose the end of the interview/discussion.

Yesterday’s program with Education minister Gillian Keegan. The interview of Gillian by Adam and Chris was abysmal. They gave her an easy ride with regard to the teachers striking. There is a good reason why they won’t agree to pausing strikes. It is a well known fact that once you pause strikes you could loose teachers who just give up. As we know that there is a teacher shortage this will only make things worse. Do Adam and Chris know that 50,000 teachers have joined the unions? What do they understand from this fact? The other main thing missing from their interview was - the Union instead made a suggestion to help with trying to resolve the situation - the union had suggested going to ACAS which The government has refused WHY!
