I wanted to like it, but the character of Hazel Green never really resonated with me. While her husband is the antagonist, she’s her own worst enemy and the show suffers for it. Admittedly, I went in expecting a very different type of show. The pilot seemed to be leaning in a different direction. Then again, it’s based on a book so I’m sure that it stays relatively faithful to that. With that said, maybe this show is for fans of the book. Regardless, I’m not the target audience. While that’s 100% okay, it’s a 1-star for me.
