I personally thought the movie was great. Yes there is a lot of “fan service,” but they needed to do that to tie it to the originals, breathe life into the script, and lay the groundwork for future movies, as well as being an emotional and respectful send off to Egon Spangler. I hope The director gets his wish and that other director’s step in to tell “franchise” stories and really build up the Ghostbusters universe. I’d even be cool with the 2016 cast showing up in this universe and expanding on it, rather than pretending it never happened like in their movie. I know theirs was supposed to be a reboot not a sequel, but with a property like Ghostbusters, it’s all about the fan service and nostalgia. Overall great movie, I hope it blows the roof off the box office!!
