I was very interested in this book because it was about members of my family. Fannie was Billy-Pearl's older sister, and my grandmother. My mother and Huston were 1st cousins. I can't put it down. The references of Elkins bring back many memories for me. I have been there many times throughout my life, and experienced events there like the Forest Festival, even getting my picture taken with Harry Truman. He was chopping a log with an axe on the stage, and I was on the back of that stage, and got in the picture. I have read a lot of books, and this is definitely one of my favorites.
