Firstly to put the record straight, Birmingham (and the Black Country), is the home of rock not Coventry. Maybe the concept of ‘Nativity Rocks’ is inaugural for Coventry becoming the UK City of Culture in 2021; but the as hands symbolically fail to meet in the high fives, the lingering and pervading aftertaste is that it is Okay to be ‘second best’ as long as you are obnoxious in doing so. I’d be really insulted if I was from Coventry and felt that this film was representative of the city I grew up in. I gave it 3 stars for the magnificent cinematography of the old and new Cathedrals and the nod to how dreadful the ring road is to navigate around!
