JJ Abrams never seems to make a movie that you feel excited about watching a second, third or fourth time. They all have this whiz-bang-action-smarmy-humor schtick that sorta passes muster the first time through but are tedious on any second run. Character development is somewhat less than two-dimensional and every other scene is another deus ex machina that creates confusion in the storytelling. This version was okay and is something I could probably have on background while cleaning the house, but there's no compelling draw that merit's a full sit-down movie night.
