Geena’s memoir is a mesmerizing read by an incredible trans icon whose life story touches a host of diverse and intersecting narratives. Beyond her trans identity, Geena walks us through her upbringing in the Philippines, adventures as a pageant queen, model in America, love escapades, and the undercurrent of secrecy & self-development she had to undergo as she evolved personally, professionally, and spiritually. The resilience, and eloquence with which she writes about it, is simply astounding, inspiring, and thought-provoking. As a fellow Asian transwoman of a multinational background, I found this memoir to touch me in a myriad of ways, and I highly recommend it to trans & cis folx alike who are seeking to be enlivened by a figure of divine femininity, poise, and utmost charisma.
