Watching Kung Fu Panda 4 was easily a huge disappointment. Since I am going to point the tiniest of details of the movie that i found were either quite useless or overall worsening the quality of the movie, this is going to be a long review.
1) First things first, the pace of the movie was too high. In essence, the scenes were unusually fast and often quite hurried up to wrap the the story in about 2 hours. Rather than focusing on the emotional scenes that could have aided the viewers in developing some empathy with the characters, the writers though it better to hasten up the plot to fit the time
2) Secondly, even though (SPOILER ALERT) Zhen's betrayal, at least by me, was not predicted, her sudden change of heart was immediately noticed which made the movie appear to be more generic instead of having its own element like the previous installments
3) Moreover, a lot of voicing opportunities were missed by the creators. Fir instance, Shen and general Kai were chances for the directors to recall on KFP 2 and 3, but the characters were let go in silence. Additionally, tigress and other allies were also introduced only in the end, that too in mute which felt quite empty.
To simply put forward my point, the movie tried its best to wrap up the story of Po with the new dragon warrior being Zhen, very similar to the wrap of cars in cars 3, though this end felt extremely loose and open for the viewers to interpret which I don't argue is always a bad thing, but it certainly was in this case. The movie had the chance to put end to a legendary story loved by all, but like many other franchises, it sadly failed to do so by adding childish humor in numerous places instead of adding a meaningful story and an end to the Kung Fu Panda story
