This was a fun read and it can be completed quite quickly. I do personally feel that it is quite overrated but this is my personal opinion as I prefer reading non-fiction. I didn’t feel that there was any real story, it was merely a progression of character over the course of the book. I also didn’t feel that it was what is known as a “page-turner”. There were points where I felt bored and disengaged mainly due to the lack of “story”. However, Gail Honeyman presents a brilliant depiction of loneliness and captures the true nature of it’s harsh effects on all aspects of life from work environments, to building relationships, and overcoming trauma. I also was pleasantly surprised with the ending of the book.
