Love this show and that it’s able to tell a fictional portrayal of the very real experiences of AAGPBL players like Maybelle Blair and Terry Donahue (A Secret Love documentary). For the majority of her life, sports legend 95-year old @AAGPBL player, Maybelle Blair felt like she had to hide her authentic self. Today she came out publicly for the first time. We couldn't be happier for her, and continue to push for love and acceptance on and off the field. Terry Donahue stars in A secret Love, a documentary about Terry and her partner Pats coming out to Terrys family and marriage as they move into a retirement home. While their stories weren’t safe to tell before or in the case of the 1992 film tell openly but implied, the 2022 tv series brings light to this hidden and persecuted history of the All American players and the lgbtq community of the 1940s.
