I listened to this book in stages as it was hard to take in. You can hear the pain in his voice as he reads the words. Part of me didn’t want to hear any more but the other part kept at me to keep on. What did I take away from it? Listen to your children, ask the hard questions, make them feel safe in their voice, and be prepared to do what it takes to protect them. No matter their age, they felt they could not talk about it and some never did I suspect. I never did like the idea of sending young kids away to a boarding school. I’m sure some aspects of it are different now as he says, but I would never. ever.
