Denise Teasdale

I don't like this novel at all. I read Life After Life by Kate Atkinson and loved it so much I then devoured A God in Ruins. However reading Shrines of Gaiety it is as if another author has written it, It doesn't seem intelligent or beautifully written, it's like Peaky Blinders without the character development and just way too obvious. I am bored already after a few chapters so will donate it to a charity shop. Clearly I have been thoroughly spoiled by my last read, All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr which really is stellar.
