With the critical acclaim of her previous studio albums, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights, I was expecting more from Swift. Lyric-wise, she transformed into a matured lyricist from a teen eager to learn. However, with the TTPD becoming a "double album" seems over-saturated and over-the-top that it actually ruins the whole concept—not to mention the fact that she's tried hard to write numerous songs in a so-called "double album" that each of it lost luster and quality like her previous ones, "cruel summer", "anti-hero", "all too well" and more. "Fortnight" for example, dwells on second voices AGAIN like what she did to Lana Del Rey in "snow on the beach". Now we begin to understand how she is as a "pathological people pleaser" and how she's become a billionaire by taking advantage of her fans all over the world, releasing several versions of an album with only one song different from the other. Her struggle to maintain relevance and keep her prime days is becoming more and more dull and uninteresting. Her dive into folk and alternative rock is a risky choice, but mixing it with synth-pop is a question. I've listened to several other artists under those genres and all of them were good, but the TTPD album ruined it. To cut it short, TTPD is too long, too familiar, too general and too trying hard to fit the songs into its album title just because it had "complex" lyrics and uses "flowery" words. Been a Swiftie since 2008 but as honest as I could, I think I'm beginning to lose the love I had for her music.
