I absolutely love Mila Kunis, but I don't think this was a part she should have played. I have recovering addicts in my family and people I have known. My father, my brother, who passed away while still being an addict and some very close friends. She was too chill for someone going through withdrawals. The character played the victim often. She never held herself accountable and basically blamed everyone but herself for her problem.
I watched this movie because I saw that it was based on a true story, and the girl it's based on came out on the other side. But living with an addict is a never ending nightmare. From waking up in the middle of the night to finding them missing, temper tantrums and violence when you don't/can't give them money, stealing and lying...it's so much more than what was depicted. It always sucks when you loves the actors but hate the story.
