A great opportunity squandered. This film doesn't know exactly what it is and the poor actors are doing the best they can under the circumstances of a film that deviates wildly in tone. Could have been a terrific, intimate "caught on camera"/reality discovery of two personalities crumbling under the weight of their former selves and the circumstances that destroyed those people. Instead it was a misguided wish-mash of forced comedy and overwrought drama. In the end, the filmmakers had an elevated Tyler Perry film on their hands instead of a cleverly crafted, quietly painful and hilarious human story. The director is CLEARLY at fault here - no tonal clarity whatsoever. That's too bad.
