I bought Ecstasy of the Dead on Amazon a couple of days ago via an advert on Amazon Kindle.
While I read it - it was so fantastic, as it seems to be the first kind of African Literature, poetry precisely that I've ever find intriguing. Well, I know about the famous poet, Wole Soyinka, and a couple of other impressive writers.
Reading through Ecstasy of the Dead was quite humongous for me. The poetry collection features 47 profound poems and 3 non-fiction articles.
I can say that it was a wonderful read that eases a depressed heart, that preaches hope to the dying soul. Some of the poems talked about the afterlife, some are somber, some inspiring, while some talked about the issues with religion in our modern time. It was a wonderful anthology with different themes that scales human psychology on certain ideologies.
I think words cannot describe the sort of significance that this book serves.
I recommend this great piece to anyone who would want to understand how he or she should cope with the disheartening challenges that might face men on Earth.
Thee Victory.
