First let me say I hated Rian Johnson's second movie in this trilogy. He ripped up everything set up in JJ's first one. So the first part of this final movie rushes through stuff so fast to make up for this it felt hit and miss. Some "ooh wow" moments interspersed with frustration that things weren't given any depth or explanation. But then it hits it's stride and lifts off into the stratosphere. It rights wrongs from previous films. It ties things up. It is packed with references and hints from and mirrors previous movies. The next day I'm still buzzing and thinking about wow moments and other ones that made me shed a tear. Thank you JJ, if only you had made all 3 of these.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this film. For the budget it has some shonky cgi, but park that and enjoy the spectacle and there are some genuinely fantastic set pieces. It has some really funny bits, some really cool bits - no spoilers but nice touches for Easter eggs. It gets a bit messy, but I liked the final twist which opens up a lot of possibilities. I think it's well up there as one of the best of the DC movies ( not hard I know) and if it was a Marvel film I think it would get more love. It's certainly more of a Marvel film than a DC film in style and tone. I would definitely recommend it, it kept me looking forward wondering how it was going to pan out right up to the end. See it on the big screen.
